The EC Digest email addresses will not be redistributed.

It is the policy of EC Digest to not allow advertisements per se, although a simple announcement of a new product or service is allowed. The announcement should have a brief description of the product or service, and a contact point for those that are interested.

EC Digest will allow conference announcements and job positions to be posted if relevant to evolutionary computation.

The EC Digest moderators will not honor subscribe requests that are not from that person.

The EC Digest accepts submissions only from members subscribed to the list.

• Posts for CFPs that are unrelated to Evolutionary Computation will be rejected. Authors who disagree with a specific such rejection decision are free re-submit their post with a brief introductory paragraph explaining the relevance to the EC community. We will reconsider the post based on the merits of both the original content, as well as the introduction. The introduction will be included, if the post is accepted. If the post is accepted, the information about the event will not be added to our "Calendar of Events."
• Posts for CFPs that relate only in small part, or indirectly to Evolutionary Computation (e.g., large, general AI conferences that have EC tracks) will be included, as long as the connection to EC is clear in the post. Such posts will not be added to our "Calendar of Events."
• Posts for CFPs that relate directly to the EC community will be included, and the information for those events will be added to the "Calendar of Events" where appropriate, with the following caveat: - We will not add separate event items for individual sessions, workshops, tutorials, etc. in a conference that is itself in the calendar.
• Posts for CFPs should be no longer that 30 lines, and any posted call WILL BE TRUNCATED TO THIS LENGTH. A good rule of thumb is to make sure the following information is within those first 30 lines:
  • Name of conference/workshop/tutorial, etc.
  • Date of the event
  • Location of the event
  • Two or three sentences of description
  • A web pointer to a more in-depth CFP

EC Digest Etiquette and Protocol

Permission is granted to copy EC Digest digests (or parts thereof) for research purposes, as long as these copies are not sold. If you wish to sell copies (or parts thereof), you must obtain permission of the current moderators and all submitters of that material.

The EC Digest is a forum for informal discussion. Individual submissions (or parts thereof) should not be quoted and cited in text without the permission of the author. If you include private email from another person, please obtain permission from that person.

EC Digest receives a lot of mail, which has to be sifted through carefully. You may see a few digests appear before your message shows up. This happens because the backlog can be large, and because not all topics have the same priority. We urge submitters to be aware of dates, and not send items at the last minute.

All submissions to EC Digest should directly pertain to the field of evolutionary computation, be in good taste, and be as concise as possible. We prefer not to perform stylistic editing, so please take the time to format your message neatly using a 80 column page. Please also avoid using dashes as separators since we use them to separate submissions.
